A giveaway pen is chosen on cost per impression. An executive pen is chosen because one particular person will open it, and that changes every decision behind it. The construction says most of it. 55 of the 95 styles here are brass and another 46 are machined metal, against just three in plastic. 88 are decorated by engraving rather than printing, so the mark is cut into the barrel instead of sitting on top of it where a thumb will eventually wear it away. 42 styles sit above $10, which is roughly twenty times what a promotional stick pen costs and exactly the point.

Barrel Construction
55 styles are brass, 46 are machined metal and 15 are aluminum. Only three are plastic, and those sit at the entry end of the range rather than in the gift tier.
Weight & Balance
Brass carries noticeably more weight than aluminum, which is what gives a pen its considered feel in the hand. Barrel weight is listed per style where the manufacturer supplies it.
Mechanism
34 styles twist, seven click and five use a cap. Twist actions dominate at this tier because they are quieter and read as more deliberate than a click.

Engraving is the default at this tier and it is what 88 of the 95 styles are set up for. The trade-off is color: engraving gives you the metal underneath, not your brand palette. Where the mark has to be in exact corporate colors, printing is the answer instead.
Permanent and sharp on brass and machined metal. The mark cannot rub off because it is cut into the barrel rather than applied to it.

On requestBarrel placement is tighter than it looks. 94 of the 95 styles carry a single-color imprint, and an engraving window on a pen barrel is a few centimetres of curved surface, so a logo with small type or thin strokes will not survive the reduction. We will tell you that before you order rather than after.
